The year 2013 has been a very positive year for Mercedes Benz India, the Indian subsidiary of popular German car manufacturer Mercedes Benz, as far as luxury car sales are concerned. Mercedes Benz India was able to sell a total of 9003 units in India in 2013 and have posted an overall growth of 32 percent when compared to its performance in 2012. Mercedes Benz has made a big leap forward in the car sales as it had just sold 6840 units in December 2012. In fact, the second half of the year has been even more fruitful for Mercedes Benz India as it has recorded a massive growth of 45 percent and the main reason behind this tremendous sales boost is the newly launched products in the Indian luxury car market. It has easily achieved the second position among the luxury car manufacturers in India and it fell short of Audi India by 1000 units. Mercedes Benz has achieved a remarkable sales graph in India in the period July to December and it is looking forward to another fruitful year in 2014.
Mercedes Benz India had earlier named 2013 as a Year of Offensive and it proved its mettle by launching cost effective luxury cars as well as premium luxury cars for the different sections of luxury car buyers. Mercedes Benz India’s prime focus was products, dealer network, cost of ownership and brand experience and it really worked in its favor. Mercedes Benz has left behind third place BMW India by quite a big margin and will be hoping to inch near Audi India at the end of 2014.
